At Eternal Sole Foot and Ankle, we are focused on getting your pain eliminated and returning you to a healthy and active lifestyle ASAP!
We would like to introduce our premier treatment modality to do exactly that: the MLS Laser!
MLS, or Multiwave Locked System, Laser Therapy is a noninvasive option for patients dealing with foot complications who want to explore treatment options other than surgery, reduce pain, and heal faster from injuries, or even wounds!
MLS Laser Therapy helps relieve the pain that comes with having strains, sprains, and issues with inflammation. This therapy has been found especially useful for those who experience chronic complications. Some foot conditions MLS Laser Therapy can treat include Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, heel pain, bursitis, diabetic neuropathy, and different forms of arthritic conditions. Those who are experiencing pain due to sporting injuries or wounds may also find relief with this kind of therapy.
MLS Laser Therapy is a painless treatment that typically requires a short amount of time to complete, depending on the condition. It not only increases the speed of recovery, but helps improve blood flow and alleviate pain. Improved immune function, as well as improved vascular and metabolic activity, are just some of the benefits of choosing MLS Laser Therapy as a treatment option.
If you’d like more information about MLS Laser Therapy, please contact us to set up a consultation to discuss your condition and whether MLS is an effective treatment option for you.

What makes the MLS Laser Unique?
MLS Laser Therapy is a patented emission system created to achieve an efficient and simultaneous effect on pain, contracture, inflammation, and edema in a short period of time. It delivers a unique combination and synchronization of continuous and pulsed wavelengths to distinguish it from any other Class IV lasers. The capability to deliver safe, controlled laser energy that penetrates deep into the tissue, provides more accurate therapeutic dose delivery, meaning consistent and repeatable results. The various therapeutic effects take place at the same time and reciprocally reinforce each other, without the risk of thermal damage.
1. Anti-Inflammatory: MLS® Laser Therapy has an anti-edema effect as it causes vasodilation, but also because it activates the lymphatic drainage system which drains swollen areas. As a result, there is a reduction in swelling caused by bruising or inflammation.
2. Analgesic: MLS® Laser Therapy has a beneficial effect on nerve cells. It blocks pain transmitted by these cells to the brain which decreases nerve sensitivity. Also, due to the decreased inflammation, there is less edema and less pain. Another pain blocking mechanism involves the production of high levels of pain killing chemicals such as endorphins and enkephalin from the brain and adrenal gland.
3. Accelerated Tissue Repair and Cell Growth: Photons of light from lasers penetrate deeply into tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. The laser light increases the energy available to the cell so that the cell can take on nutrients faster and get rid of waste products. As a result of exposure to laser light, damaged cells are repaired faster.
4. Improved Vascular Activity: Laser light will significantly increase the formation of new capillaries in damaged tissue which speeds up the healing process, closes wounds quickly and reduces scar tissue. Additional benefits include acceleration of angiogenesis, which causes temporary vasodilation and increase in the diameter of blood vessels.
5. Increases Metabolic Activity: MLS® Laser Therapy creates higher outputs of specific enzymes, greater oxygen and food particle loads for blood cells.
6. Trigger Points and Acupuncture Points: MLS® Laser Therapy stimulates muscle trigger points and acupuncture points on a noninvasive basis providing musculoskeletal pain relief.
7. Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation: MLS® Laser Therapy reduces the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from cuts, scratches, burns or surgery.
8. Improved Nerve Function: Slow recovery of nerve functions in damaged tissue can result in numbness and impaired limbs. Laser light speeds the process of nerve cell reconnection and increases the amplitude of action potentials to optimize muscle healing.
9. Immunoregulation: Laser light has a direct effect on immunity status by stimulating immunoglobulins and lymphocytes. Laser emissions are absorbed by chromophores (molecule enzymes) that react to laser light. Upon exposure to the laser, the enzyme flavomononucleotide is activated and starts the production of ATP (adenosinetriphosphate), which is the major carrier of cell energy and the energy source for all chemical reactions in the cells.
10. Faster Wound Healing: Laser light stimulates fibroblast development in damaged tissue. Fibroblasts are the building blocks of collagen, which is the essential protein required to replace old tissue or to repair tissue injuries. As a result, MLS® Laser Therapy is effective post-surgically and in the treatment of open wounds and burns.

Testimonials
I used to be a school teacher and was on my feet all the time. I have dealt with plantar fasciitis in the past, but developed a new problem. After retiring, I am now dealing with a heel spur on the back of my heel and achilles tendinitis. My foot and ankle were hurting every time I walked and it was painful when I moved my ankle up and down. I was hoping it would just go away by using pain creams and icing it, but it only got worse. The pain had been going on for about 6 months or more when I finally made an appointment to see Dr. Milliron. We tried inserts, medication for inflammation, and taping, all of which helped a little. She also mentioned MLS laser treatment as another option and gave me some information about the treatment. I decided to give it a try after reading about it. The pain was about an 8/10 before I started the laser treatment. After the first treatment, I had almost no pain at all!
Now, after only 1 laser treatment, my pain is about a 1/10 and I am excited that it is finally going away! I plan to continue to do a few more treatments to get all of the inflammation down and keep doing the other recommended treatments such as stretching and increased support to hopefully keep it from coming back. I am very happy with my results!
I have had pain in the bottoms of my heels for several years off and on.
In 2019, I had two injections and that relief lasted a little while. The pain then came back and became excruciating. It was affecting every aspect of my life. I know this sounds dramatic, but the way I would describe the pain is like my feet had been chopped off and I was walking on bloody stumps! I felt like I couldn’t walk or do anything without having the most excruciating pain and being miserable. My activity shut down.
I had tried injections, inserts, stretching, and cushioning with different types of shoes without any lasting relief. I don’t like the idea of doing shots, but I was desperate and wanted to explore other options. Dr. Milliron gave me some information on the MLS laser and I went home and did my research on it. I was simply AMAZED at the results and excited about the success other people were having. I was also a bit hesitant and skeptical. Surgery doesn’t even have the high statistics of success like this laser treatment does!
After reading more about it, I decided to schedule my first laser treatment and give it a try. It was a painless and quick treatment. Afterward, I noticed over the next few days that there was a major change! Usually, when I get ready to stand up, I have that sudden excruciating pain when I step down. I usually roll my feet on a little ball to massage the area to warm it up to get ready to stand up. I now notice after only a few treatments that I step down or just get out of a chair without thinking about it and I have at least 50% relief of my pain with only one treatment.
It was just amazing to not have to think about the pain as much anymore!
I am so grateful that I was introduced to the MLS laser treatment as an option and highly recommend it to anyone in pain!
My achilles tendon pain was a 10/10 on the back of both of my heels for a year, off and on. Over the past 6 months, the back of my right heel in the Achilles tendon area was starting to increase in pain. In the mornings, I would wake up stiff and sore. When I started seeing Dr Milliron for it, she worked me up and took X-rays, did an ultrasound, and we reduced the inflammation with some medication, but the pain was still there. We discussed a NEW treatment option: MLS laser therapy. I read about it and was excited to try to get the pain relieved without medication and without pain or surgery! The treatments were easy, fast, and painless, and in 4 treatments, my pain was a 0/10 or maybe a 1/10 at the most. I have continued to do my own stretching at home and also continue to wear the arch supports she recommended. I have even been able to push-mow my lawn again without pain! Thank you, Eternal Sole Foot and Ankle for helping me!
